we believe…

God

That there is only one God, existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who created all things, and who has revealed Himself to mankind.

Word of God

That the God-given scriptures, comprised of sixty-six canonical books that is called the Christian Bible, hold true infallible authority, and by them we can know and obey God.

sin

That all of humanity, with the exception of Jesus Christ, are sinners by nature and by choice. Because of our sinfulness, we are naturally separated from God and are bound to physical and spiritual death. This debt can only be fulfilled by a perfect sacrifice.

Jesus

That Jesus, the Christ, the second person of the Trinity, and the eternal son of God became human, being born of a virgin, and lived a life as both fully man and fully God. He was tested and tempted in every way that we are, yet He lived a perfect life so that by His death, our penalty could be paid.

Christ’s death

That the death of Jesus on the cross was the perfect payment for our sins because He was sinless and able to endure the wrath of God on our behalf. In dying, He took our punishment and conquered death itself. Therefore, He did not remain in the grave. He physically rose from the dead after three days, revealed Himself to many, ascended into Heaven, and will one day return.

salvation

That God offers salvation to man as a gift received by faith. We cannot merit God’s grace but He has chosen to freely bestow His grace upon all who call on Him through believing in Jesus Christ.

church

In the calling together of true believers to bring the gospel to all nations. These ordained local gatherings are referred to in scripture as ‘churches’, and they are sanctified by God, and designed to obey Christ’s commands through: making disciples, Christian teaching and fellowship, and practicing the ordinances of the church, baptizing believers and remembering Christ’s death by taking the Lord’s Supper.

resurrection

In a future physical resurrection of the dead. Those who trust in Jesus Christ will be raised to an eternal life. Those who have not trusted in Jesus Christ will be raised to eternal death. There is only one way by which we can be saved, sanctified, and find true life and joy, and that is by believing in the finishing work of Christ’s sacrifice, trusting in the power of His resurrection, and renouncing our sins with the power of the Holy Spirit.

regeneration

That once a person has truly repented and received forgiveness by trusting in the finished work of Jesus, he/she will receive a new heart and will ultimately grow in godliness. While we do believe that a Christian can stumble, there will be clear evidence of God’s Spirit manifesting itself within his/her life.
